About Ani

I was born in Elmhurst, Queens, into a home where creativity was a way of life. My father was a photographer and artist. My mother, a painter and dancer.

Because of my father's work with UNICEF, I spent my childhood moving between the raw electricity of New York City and the vibrant soul of Dhaka, Bangladesh.

That duality shaped everything I make; east and west, mythology and modernity, spirit and story.

At 13, I was accepted into the High School of Art and Design in NYC, where I studied illustration and comics. I became obsessed with folklore, mythology, and the deep human need for stories that stave off the dark. Poetry, prose, and image became my first spiritual languages.

Today I work as an illustrator, character designer, and graphic designer rooted in that same obsession. I make work for spiritualists, wellness brands, and fellow creatives who need visuals that carry real depth and meaning. People who understand that imagination is not escape. It is reality.

Kolpona is the Bengali word for imagination. This is what I named my art for a reason.
